Christmas is almost here

Christmas is almost here again, can you believe it? It’s been one whole year now since Abbie came home to live with us. It feels like so much longer, like she’s always been here. It’s hard to imagine our lives without her.

I’ve already started wrapping Christmas presents and putting them under the tree. It’s funny to have the dogs recognize immediately which ones are theirs and which ones belong to the humans. Is it possible that they can smell the familiar scents of Petsmart or Foster and Smith on their own packages? Despite the many humans that have handled them in between? Maybe they’re just picking up on subconscious clues that I’m giving them? They’re quite adept little mind readers sometimes!

I’m going to have to wait to put their stockings up at the very last minute or I know that my ’smarty-pants’ pooches will find a way to get them down and gobble up the treats inside. Christmas is going to be a lot of fun this year, I can’t wait! I’ll make sure to post lots of pictures on Abbie’s flickr page and on the English Bulldog Abbie website!
