Halloween Helpers

It’s been a busy Halloween for our brindle bullie, she was recruited to appear at half a dozen Halloween parties, including a very special party that I’d like to take a minute to rave about.

A lot of people want to help out homeless pets, but they may not have the time or the money to donate themselves. Ray and Sharon found a great way to help their favorite homeless pet charity this past weekend by hosting a very special Halloween party for people to bring their pets too. At the party were lots of games and challenges for people to enter their pets into for a very small entry fee, and they could win a homemade dog treats and other fun prizes at each booth.

With the help of their friends, they were able to raise over $500 in just one night to donate for homeless pets, while at the same time allow us and everyone else at the party to have a great time!

It doesn’t really matter where you live, almost every state that I know of has a special program available for homeless pets. Here in Utah my favorite is No More Homeless Pets in Utah. They offer lots of programs to help out the community as well as ways that you can get involved in helping out animals in your area.

Even if you can only offer a few minutes of your time once or twice a week to play with the animals and keep them company, that can mean a lot to a pet that doesn’t have a family of its own!
